Ellis Public Library
907 Washington | facebook.com/ellispubliclibrary
Established in 1937, the Ellis Public Library has proudly served the community for generations and has been located in its current building since 1983.
The library offers approximately 13,000 titles along with access to digital resources through the Sunflower eLibrary and the State Library of Kansas, all available to patrons with a library card. Visitors can also browse our ongoing book sale and take home a little piece of Ellis during their travels.
More than just a place for books, the library is a welcoming community gathering space where people come together for events, activities, learning and conversation. Those interested in local history can explore archived editions of the Ellis Review dating back to the late 1800’s along with a small collection focused on Ellis County and Kansas history. Throughout the year, the library hosts a variety of programs for all ages, including story hour, after-school activities, summer library programs and monthly community events.
Looking for a place to celebrate? Our community room is available to rent for graduations, bridal or baby showers, small family reunions, meetings and other special gatherings.
