Welcome to the Ellis Volunteer Fire Department
The Ellis Volunteer Fire Department is comprised of 20 volunteers. These members volunteer their time to protect Ellis residents from fire and other dangers. They are trained in many areas.
Some of the supplementary training they have is CPR/First Aid, Weather Watch, and Water Rescue. These volunteers meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. They are a dedicated group who take their jobs seriously.

Stay connected with the Fire Department
Volunteers play a vital role in our community and our firefighters are a fine example of Ellis’ “can do” spirit. An example of this spirit occurs annually during National Fire Prevention Week. The volunteers visit the Ellis schools providing education to our young people on fire prevention.
Likewise, firefighters provide fire engine rides in conjuction with the Ellis Junior Free Fair. The firefighters drive a restored 1928 LaFrance Fire Truck. The restoration was provided by members of the department. They restored this “local one-owner” to its former glory for the community and future generations.
